The Team

Gillian Britt, Principal

about-ciff-orgThe arts. Fine food. Fashion. Family. Fierce public relations and promotion. Those are the driving passions in Gillian's life.

With a B.A. in English from Youngstown State University, Gillian launched a career in public relations and promotions at one of Chicago's most prestigious PR Firms where she quickly learned the value of thinking on your feet, solid pitching skills and well-written press releases. In 1995, after migrating to Maine, she took up residence as Director of Public Relations for one of Maine's larger advertising agencies.

In the fall of 2002 she established gBritt PR where she manages PR strategy and media relations on behalf of the company's clients. She is also president of the board of the Maine Jewish Film Festival.

Jim Britt, Principal

about-ciff-orgJim brings 18 years of varied marketing experience to gBritt, and leads the firm's marketing strategy, event planning and new business development. Jim also contributes to the public relations practices at the agency.

Prior to gBritt, Jim was with Pierce (Pierce Promotions and Event Management), one of the top experiential marketing agencies in North America. Prior to Pierce, Jim was with IFMA (the International Food Manufacturers Association), where he led an intensive program at the University of Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business, focused on providing practical solutions for food industry marketing professionals.

Before joining IFMA, Jim served as foodservice marketing manager at Barber Foods, the third largest branded frozen prepared poultry company in the country. Jim holds a marketing (B.A.) degree from Youngstown State University. He serves on the board of directors of Share Our Strength in Maine.

Debra Tenenbaum, Account Executive

about-ciff-org

Debra believes everyone has a story to tell. A story of where they came from, what they're doing here, and where they're going.

The story of Debra's career begins at Boston College where she first became intrigued by the world of public relations. Shortly after graduating, she moved to Portland with her husband. Debra fell in love with the city's excellent restaurants, vibrant music and arts scene, and easy access to the outdoors.

Before joining gBritt in 2007, Debra managed the public relations for a large community bank and then became the director of development and marketing for a $14 million nonprofit organization.

In her free time, Debra does the usual (spends time with friends and family, eats at good restaurants, goes kayaking, hiking and snowshoeing) as well as the unusual (makes films for Maine's 48-Hour Film Project, writes post-modern fiction, and races in the National Toboggan Championships)

Lynda Stocks, Project Coordinator

about-ciff-org

Lynda Stocks brings more than a decade of valuable marketing and public relations experiences to gBritt.  She is a native of Dublin, Ireland, and a graduate of Emerson College, Boston. She began her PR career in Boston, where she managed multiple national accounts while working with some of the city's leading firms. Pursuing a dream, she and her husband returned to Ireland to launch a business. As a small business owner and director or marketing and PR, she combined her agency experiences and marketing savvy. She quickly carved out a niche for the business. After several successful years, they sold the business and moved back to the States.
